Max Ashworth is an experienced North Carolina trial and appellate attorney who has dedicated more than a decade to public service and the practice of law. Throughout his career, Max has represented clients in some of the most serious and consequential matters in North Carolina courts, developing extensive experience in both trial advocacy and appellate litigation.

For more than a decade, Max served as a Public Defender, where he represented individuals facing criminal charges and fought to ensure that every client received a vigorous and constitutionally sound defense. During that time, he tried dozens of cases before juries, gaining substantial experience in jury selection, opening statements, direct and cross-examination, evidentiary issues, and closing arguments. His years in the courtroom have given him a practical understanding of how cases are actually tried and how important preparation, judgment, and clear decision-making are to achieving justice.

Max also served as an appellate defense attorney, practicing before the North Carolina Court of Appeals. In that role, he developed significant experience researching and analyzing complex legal issues, preparing appellate briefs, and presenting legal arguments before an appellate court. His appellate practice strengthened his ability to examine the law carefully, identify constitutional and legal issues, and communicate complicated arguments clearly and effectively.
