Mincey explained that the $8 million transaction triggered Anti‑Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance scrutiny at Chase, where Wilkerson first identified the deposits. Media reports have linked the funds to Anton Postolnikov, nephew of former Russian Deputy Justice Minister Aleksandr Smirnov, with the money allegedly routed through Paxum Bank, a Caribbean‑based payment processor.

The podcast also revisited the outcome of Trump Media’s earlier legal efforts against Wilkerson. In 2025, a Florida court dismissed defamation claims brought against him following reporting by The Guardian, The Washington Post, and The New York Post concerning the loans. After those claims failed, Mincey noted, Trump Media shifted its focus toward accusing JPMorgan Chase of “debanking” the company.
